| A work of fiction based on the human trafficking scourge ravaging the world today told from the perspectives of two sixteen year old girls who are forced to leave their home in Iseluku which is a small settlement on the eastern part of Nigeria to serve in the towns and cities to earn a living.Ginika the main protagonist travels down to the western part of the country along with her friend Ifeanyi to work as a maid in a town many miles away from home in order to augment the family's meager income. The rains have been very bad and as a result, the crops on the family’s farm have been almost totally destroyed. Pickings are slim and she is made to understand that her family is on the verge of starvation.Things go alright the first year as they find themselves with good families. It is the second year that things start to go horribly wrong.
