As The Twig Is Bent
Joe Perrone Jr.
SOMEONE IS RAPING AND STRANGLING WOMEN in the Chelsea section of Manhattan - but, who? The only clues: a distinct signature, a heart carved into each victim’s breast containing the initials “J.C.” and the initials of the decease; copies of the New Testament – with underlined passages referring to infidelity; and fingerprints of a juvenile arrested in the 1960s in Upstate New York. Assigned to the case is NYPD detective, Matt Davis, hopelessly addicted to fly fishing - and chocolate. A one-quarter Mohawk Indian partner, a scarred Vietnam veteran, and a female detective looking for "true love" complete the cast in this explosive mystery thriller that exposes the sordid underbelly of the world of Internet chat rooms. The nerve-tingling plot grabs the reader and doesn't let go, propelling "As The Twig Is Bent" toward its unlikely, bone-chilling conclusion.

AUTHOR JOE PERRONE was a sportswriter for the Passaic-Clifton, NJ Herald News, as well as a free-lance advertising copywriter. He has been a professional fly fishing guide and instructor on the Beaverkill River in the Catskill Mountains of New York State. Presently, he lives in the mountains of Western North Carolina with his wife, Becky, and the couple's two cats, Cassie and Callie. Both "As the Twig is Bent" and a second novel, "Escaping Innocence," a side-splitting look at coming-of-age in the turbulent '60s, are available in paperback at Lulu.com. The author welcomes comments from readers, and can be reached via Email at: [email protected]

PRAISE FOR: "AS THE TWIG IS BENT"
"Characters with substance; crisp, authentic dialogue; and a plot with more twists and turns than a giant slalom. Kept me on the edge of my seat right up until the shocking end."
--Bob Walker, former CEO Promotion Mechanics, Inc., a Division of Ogilvy & Mather Advertising, NYC

MORE PRAISE FOR: "AS THE TWIG IS BENT"
"Aside from having the most beautiful cover I have ever seen on a book, the story itself matches perfectly. As excellent a murder mystery as I have ever read, and I have read the greats!" --VAHAN GREGORY, noted playwright, sculptor, and author of over 30 books, including "Oh Boy, Here Comes Walt!" available on Lulu.com
