"From Julia's first plea for help to the witty description of events to come, I was hooked into this story. Then, finding out she ran a catering business just sealed it up for me; I love foodie based novels. The scenes leading up to when Julia and Ryan first connect are realistic, humorous, and set the tone for the writing style. I liked the strong friendship between Julia and Charlotte, the way they accept and support each other. The love and conflict between Julia and her teenage daughter, Kelly, conveys realistic feelings and reactions; it was beautifully written. Watching Julia and Ryan try to abide by the deal they hatch to protect him from Cherry and fool Kelly makes this another delightful read from Donna Fasano.
