| The Wisdom of Rain is the third in a series of novels about two San Francisco trial lawyers, DD O'Neil and Joe Cleary, who grew up in Butte, Montanta. Their adventures while practicing law are dramatically illumuniated in the tapestry of San Francisco jurisprudence.
The story begins in the rugged, mountainous country of Southeast of Butte, MT where the young boys are witness to brutal murder and torture of a Chinese man. The young boys are involved in the test of the legal system to convict the gang responsible for the murder...and then the story picks up thirty years later as the two lawyers take the side of the rank and file union members in San Franicsoc.
