His First Kill: A Short Story
| John Brinling
| Mr. M the boy a difficult assignment. A public killing on the Fourth of July. In Vermont. Of a friend. Whom he really cared for.
A mission of great political significance he couldn’t fail to complete, because he would be assassinated if he did.
Faced with this impossible choice, the boy procrastinated until circumstances made further delay impossible. Then acted. Any boy of his age and experience would have done the same thing.
