| It's winter, and the barn is cold. There's no central heating for the ducks. No quilts for the mice. Author Biography: Walter R. Brooks died in 1958 after writing 26 Freddy the Pig books. Kurt Wiese illustrated over 400 books, nineteen of which he also wrote, before his death in 1974.
