The Road to Forever
Ron Felt
We've all been told that it is dangerous to pick up hitchhikers. That has never been truer than on The Road to Forever. Veteran Detective Simeon Jackson is on the trail of a serial killer. His best weapon is a natural ability to see a crime replay in his mind as if he were there. Together with his partner, the young Detective Bill Edwards, he tries to put a face to the haunting images he sees at each crime scene. With little evidence to follow and a trail of victims, it is a race against time to stop the killer before he strikes again. Detective Simeon Jackson is a veteran police officer with a history of catching the worst criminals a big city has to offer. Through intelligence, experience and hard work, he has developed the ability to see a crime unfold before his mind's eye by merely studying the scene where it took place. This has made him one of the best homicide detectives in the country. However, things were not always easy for him. With a violent past that almost cost him his badge, a major case and his self respect, things had to change for Simeon. Something happened that changed him to his very soul and made him the man and the detective he is today. Along with his new partner, assigned to him to learn the ropes, Jackson finds his life and career changed when a hitch hikling serial killer begins leaving bodies and little else around the city. Through the complex character of the killer, we learn what it takes to lead a man to take the life of another human being. The Road to Forever tells the story from both sides, with fast paced action and psychological twists. In the end, it is a story of faith, human growth and triumph over the evil all too prevelant in today's world.
