Four is a little, Four is a LOT
Cheska Komissar
"Mama... Is four a little, or a lot?"
That simple question from her not-quite-four year old son, Jacob, inspired first time author Cheska Komissar to write Four is a little, Four is a LOT. With a diverse cast of eight children, each experiencing the number four as both a little and a lot, the book delights readers while teaching number sense and vocabulary to early learners. And it makes a great birthday gift for all those 4th birthdays, as the book finishes by uniting the reader with all eight characters at a birthday party, celebrating that "Four is a lot… when you're not three anymore!"
Taking the theme as "four-losophy," the book was illustrated by four artists: Melissa Koch, Jesse Mangerson, Say Oh, and Garrett Taylor created their own scenes and characters, and then collaborated for the cover and finale. And four percent of the profits on each book sold are donated to each of four charities (16% total.) It was released on April 4, and is available at www.fourdollarbooks.com. (You can read the whole book there, too!)
